ImageSnap, the parent company of Artibly.com, was founded in Santa Cruz, California, by Stephen Manousos. From 1981 until 2000, Manousos owned and operated Post Digital, a successful electronic prepress service bureau, one of the first such businesses in the nation catering to graphic artists and corporate technical publishing departments.

Manousos also co-founded Fractal Design Corp., a software company noted for its natural-media painting programs, Painter and Dabbler.

After almost eight years of making products for professional artists and photographers, ImageSnap developed its gallery website, now called Artibly.com, to market and sell its customers exquisite images on tile and other materials.
